Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is Nigerian Swiss as is her mom who's English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While at the academy, she appeared in several stage productions such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career through the movie Storm Damage. In the years since, she's been a guest star for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. She then played Elisha, a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie for six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. Also, the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. A couple of her credits on stage are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on ABC's Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just the duration of two weeks The CW and then it came to an end. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After being a regular for the first two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe would depart the series following her appearance on the premiere episode of the third season. Between 2014 and 2016she appeared in Salem as Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 the actress was married to her long-time love actor Iddo Goldberg. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked in tandem on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had a part alongside her in that TV show.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers were all extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey throughout the winter as well as in the summer. She grew up in the arenas and baseball. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so at the age of 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley began to be a dancer immediately after that. Ashley continued to dance competitively through high school graduation, with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among a few.
